Advent — Day 8

If you’re anything like me, you are pretty jazzed this time of the year! It’s the Season of Advent on the Church Calendar.

Advent is the time when we anticipate the coming of our LORD. We look back, remembering His coming to us as a baby long ago; and we look forward to His coming again – any day!

My son Simon’s kindergarten and first grade teacher, Joanna Gellermann, like her mother before her, had an annual tradition of giving her students an Advent Bag. The class parents were awestruck!

Twenty-five tiny gifts in a small paper bag were actually object lessons for the Bible passages tucked inside! Kids and their families got to unwrap the season with a reason, one day at a time.

This Advent series is dedicated to my Sister in Christ, Joanna Gellermann.

Surprised Fish

Surprised to see a FISH here?

Others were surprised by fish, too!

Luke 5:4-11 (NIV)

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”

Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

If you're anything like me, you haven't always believed that God's forgiveness and grace are meant for you, and I want to help change that. I help women see God in their story by sharing MY story, and I do that at SkyBlueAnnie.com - Living a Sonrise Life. I’ve found that so many women struggle with applying the Bible to their daily life, which is why my passion is showing you Biblical Truths, and where to find them, and sharing anecdotes from my life, so you can see you’re not alone in wrestling with The Truth. One of the things my readers love most is that I share from my heart, and I would love for you to see if my story resonates with you, or compels you to explore God’s Word for yourself.
